  • Rock Climbing

    Located on Lookout Mountain, the expansive sandstone formations of Cherokee Rock Village have helped establish the park as one of the premier climbing destinations in the Southeast. With more than 200 established routes including sport, traditional, and bouldering options plus convenient access for setting top ropes. The park offers a wide range of experiences for climbers of all skill levels.

  • Hiking

    Step beyond the overlooks and into the landscape on Cherokee Rock Village’s network of easy to moderate trails. Wander among towering sandstone formations on the Rock City Trail, enjoy a peaceful walk beneath the forest canopy on the Green Forest Trail, or explore the Eagle Scout Loop, a trail built by a local Eagle Scout troop with mountain biking in mind.



    Each trail offers a unique way to experience the park, from shaded woodland paths to up-close views of the rock formations that define CRV. New trails are currently in development, with expanded routes and experiences on the way.


    Featured Trails:

    • Green Forest Trail: 1.2 miles
    • Eagle Scout Loop: 1 mile
    • Rock City Trail: 1.4 miles

  • RC Rock Crawling

    This extreme form of off-road driving uses specialized, radio-controlled vehicles to overcome obstacles in the terrain.


    At Cherokee Rock Village, you will find terrain to challenge both the machine and the operator. CRV is host to several RC Rock Crawling competitions thoughout the year.

  • Bird Watching

    Standing atop the sandstone boulders at Cherokee Rock Village, visitors will be able to view birds of prey as they soar high above Weiss Lake.  


    At the base of the boulders, Eastern Phoebes nest in the rock clefts. In the mixed-wood forested area, you may be fortunate enough to spot a Great Crested Flycatcher or a Pileated Woodpecker.

  • Pavilion, Playground, and Observation Deck

    Gather, celebrate, or simply take in the view at Cherokee Rock Village. The covered pavilion offers a well-lit space for group events and reservations, while the observation deck showcases sweeping views of Weiss Lake and the surrounding landscape. The playground provides a fun spot for younger visitors to enjoy.
